It’s official. The Seattle Seahawks released offensive guard Mike Wahle today, along with center David Washington, and signed offensive linemen Grey Ruegamer and Cory Withrow to fill their roster spots.
Wahle, 32, started 138 games in his 11-year career but failed a team physical. He started 10 games for Seattle in 2008, but succumbed to season-ending surgery on his right shoulder last December. It was the same shoulder Wahle had previous surgery on to repair a torn labrum while he was in Carolina.
Seattle also placed cornerback Marcus Trufant on the physically unable to perform list. I’ll find out more about the Trufant injury and have an update after practice. I’m headed out to the field.
Did Wahle reach an injury settlement or was he released? I didn’t think you could release injured players, and from Ruskell’s statement yesterday, it did not sound like they expected Wahle to pass his physical. Do we know what Wahle’s cap hit will be for this year?

Will Sims now slide over to the LG spot? I assume this is where Unger will be getting reps as well.
I’m truly wondering what’s going on with Truf….hmmmm.

I believe it frees up about 1 million. What the hell is with Tru?

This is not a good start.

Question for anyone who registered to attend a training camp practice… after you registered did you receive a confirmation email or anything like that? My bank statement shows I paid, but I don’t know if I need to have some kind of proof so that I can get into the practice. Any info on that would be great.

blah blah blah, just seeing if it will let me comment yet……

Trufant has a hamstring problem. Nothing to worry about YET…

Hamstring? Here’s to hoping it’s nothing that keeps him out for long. So I imagine that moves Lucas to LC and Wilson as RC. Or Jennings to RC in nickel so WIlson can cover the slot. I don’t imagine Hobbs is ready to step into that role, quite yet.

Actually it’s a “sore back”, not a hamstring.

I don’t know everybody leaves Wrotto out of the equation. His time starting last year was impressive along with Willis’. I’d be okay having Willis and Wrotto starting somewhere on the o-line and come what may.
