The Seahawks have issued the following press release, urging fans attending the game to plan ahead and consider alternative transportation options in getting to the game. Here’s the press release:
Please be advised that Sunday’s game versus the New York Jets will be played as scheduled at 1 pm at Qwest Field. With the recent winter storm and more snow expected this Sunday, the Seahawks want to make sure that fans have a safe and enjoyable trip to Qwest Field. The Seahawks strongly urge you to take advantage of the following transportation options:
Sounder Trains – Sounder Trains will be operating from the north and south this Sunday. The southbound train will start in Everett with stops in Mukilteo and Edmonds while the northbound trains will begin in Tacoma and stop in Puyallup, Sumner, Auburn, Kent and Tukwila. Postgame trains leave 10, 20 and 40 minutes after the game.
Sound Transit ST Express Buses – ST Express buses offer transportation from areas throughout Pierce, King and Snohomish counties with service every 30 minutes and stops within 3 blocks of Qwest Field.
Seahawks Park & Ride Buses – Direct shuttle service is available from 5 park & ride locations in the area. Metro Transit will operate service from Northgate, South Kirkland and Bellevue’s Eastgate park & ride lots. Starline Transportation will operate service from Federal Way and Kent park & ride lots. Buses begin running two hours prior to kickoff with the last buses leaving 45 minutes prior to kickoff. Fares are $4 each way.
Amtrak Trains – Getting to Qwest Field and Qwest Field Event Center via Amtrak Cascades is a great option for fans from Portland or Southwest Washington as well as from Bellingham and other points North – but be sure to book your tickets early as trains heading to and from games fill up fast!
