Brian Russell went on a safety blitz that did not get to Aaron Rodgers, allowing Rodgers to make a perfect pass to Greg Jennings for a 45-yard TD. He beat Marcus Trufant, though Trufant did not have any help because of Russell’s blitz, which was picked up. Trufant actually had decent coverage but Rodgers’ pass was better. Packers lead, 17-10.

Decent coverage? He let Jennings sprint by him without a touch and then played catchup. He was a full yard behind him when Jennings turned to catch the ball. He was beaten at 5 yards. Awful coverage. Only thing worse was the pass rush which has been pretty poor all game.

  2. Should we really be suprised by any of this?

What the hell happened to the Defense?!?!

We can now write Fine’ to the Seahawks season, and to that string of NFC West Championships. We may well be the only team in the divison to lose today, and only a tie breaker keeps us from being the official cellar dweller.

This team may be worse than the 1992 2-14 garbage pile.

What happened to the defense is what is not happening with the offense! When you run the ball 2nd & 12 yds to go you are not playing to win! I don’t care if you have a back-up QB in the game you have to try to let him play the game! This coach is washed up and needs to move on! It’s clear that the defense is a prevent defense and 3 guys are banged up wearing casts so for them to have to spend the whole game trying to stop GB well, we all can see what’s happening.

  6. Seattle has good players on defense. The problem is that their schemes aren’t working. Rogers has time to read the Wisconsin Cheese Production Sheet before he has to look for receivers and the Hawks keep rushing three?

I wonder what it was about Philly DC Jimmy Johnson that Holmy didn’t like when he became the Hawks HC/GM.

It was a mistake to go away from the run game in the third quarter. Now, trailing by 14 they have to pass. GB is down to two DTs. Should have tried to wear them down with runs. Nice pic, Frye. Game over.

Tied with the Rams. Formerly the worst team in the league…

  8. MadSweeney42 says:

They went from being on the verge of being an elite defense that didn’t give up big plays, got turnovers and sacks, whose only weakness was against the run to obe of the most easily abused Ds in the league. Trufant and Tatupu are playing like average players, not highly paid franchise players. Russell is constantly out of position and ineffective. Unbelievable that the same players could turn into such a ridiculously underachieving sieve.
