Denver was interested in Courtney Taylor

I spoke with Courtney Taylor some after practice, and he said the Denver Broncos were hot and heavy to sign him, and a few other teams called his agent as well. However, he said, everybody wanted to sign him to their practice squad, and he figured if he was going to make a lateral move, he might as well stay in Seattle, where he is comfortable and where he feels he has a future.

He said the biggest thing about his game is that he needs to get back his swagger. He said he knows he is good enough to compete at this level, but for whatever reason he did not perform well when he was given the chance. It is humbling, for sure, and he realizes you can’t take anything for granted.

It was interesting, as I was interviewing coach Mike Holmgren came over and gave him a quick handshake and a pat on the back, as if to say, No hard feelings. Taylor said he realizes this is a business, and only a business, and he understands that and understands there is no reason to be bitter.

If i hear someone mention “Swagger” one more time I think I’m going to vomit…

  2. nighthawk2 says:

He needs to get his swagger back? He needs to develop proper route running, good hands and a habit of not cutting of his routes. How many grains of salt did you take that remark about Denver with?

  3. eyeland says:

    Courtney Just catch the ball……

  4. luckman15 says:

Taylor SUCKS. Swagger? This guy never shuts up. Denver’s hot and heavy to sign him? Ha! Can’t believe he’s STILL talking.

  5. seahawkbryce says:

luckman have I been missing something here? I have not heard of Taylor “talking” as you proclaim.

And Denver was “hot and heavy” to sign him to their practice squad. Personally I don’t find it very unlikely that a team would not want a player with starting experience on their practice squad, even if he did only catch 1 pass in 4 games.

  6. kurtisballard says:

seahawkbryce, yes, you have been missing something here. i don’t doubt that there were teams interested in him, but the choice of words, “hot and heavy” are just more talk that will annoy his detractors.

  7. Must beat the Packers…

  8. I don’t think Courtney used the words “hot and heavy.” I think those are Frank’s words.

  9. seahawk44 says:

    second …BobbyK

    Must beat the Packers

  10. The last thing Courtney Taylor needs more of is “swagger”. How about starting with a brain.

  11. SharkHawk says:

Courtney Taylor sucks. There is no such thing as “hot and heavy” when you are talking to a guy about a freaking practice squad position. You are there to get beat up so the “real” players don’t have to. What a dope.

The guy had a starting job HANDED to him by his number 1 fan Tim Ruskell and he completely and totally blew it. He’s lucky to be pulling a paycheck let alone talking about “swagger.” LAME.

  12. SouthPrairieRedneck says:

    must beat the packers

  13. no doubt. 1-4 is just about a season-ender – and damned if i want to sit through a long, meaningless football season, just waiting for the ’09 draft.

    must beat the packers

  14. rittem1 says:

There is nothing better than a delusional wide receiver. They really do make the world go ’round.

  15. luckman15 says:

Seahawkbryce, are you crazy? Taylor just did. That was my point. To say Denver is hot and heavy to add him to their practice squad is bizarre in itself…and it proves he talks to much!

The only thing is that Frank who posted this didn’t really say if those were actual quotes. Both make him sound like he’s even more cocky now that he got cut than before he dropped all those passes vs. Buffalo.

  16. I don’t care what Courtney Taylor says, thinks, eats, drinks, or drives… If he ever makes it back to the real team and then manages to actually make some plays – then I will care… Until then – his job is to do a good Greg Jennings impression this week!!

  17. RichmondHawk says:

Maybe Seattle can package a Jordan Kent and Courtney Taylor for nothing deal to Denver?

Its funny Taylor says he would rather stay with Seattle’s P.S. Because Denver would’ve signed him practice him for a couple of weeks and then cut him because they realized he so crappy. After that, he basically has a shot of never playing in the nfl again. Right now Taylor’s just lucky he’s on the Seahawks P.S. because if he was elsewhere he’d feel the true reality of an nfl fringe player.

  18. ElPerroGrandeIII says:

OMFG … Can you say YAWN? Swagger? LOL. If you are a WR and can not make the Seattle Seahawks this year, I got news for you: You are never ever going to play WR in the NFL.

  19. oceanic says:

If any team is desperate enough to offer a fifth or fourth round pick for a kicker Seattle should deal.

  20. chucko24 says:

    Must beat the packers…………

  21. Must beat the Packers.

  22. Courtney Taylor is the biggest moron Ive seen in my experience as a sports fan.
