Jordan Babineaux violated the league’s substance abuse policy and has been suspended for the season opener against Buffalo.
Rocky Bernard violated its personal conduct policy and has been suspended for the Buffalo game as well.

What did babs do? I never heard anything about him.
Would you expect Lofa to get suspended?

Way to go babineaux you moron.

So Rocky Benard gets suspended and we still cut Triplett…nice. Marshawn Lynch will be running all over us.

How is it that NFL suspends Bernard but not Marshawn Lynch? What a joke…

Suspensions don’t count toward the 53, so week 2 they will have to cut 2 guys. I guess it gives those guys a chance to audition one more week.

Did we get a complete list of who is cut/waived?

I thought that case was thrown out, why did they suspend him? Good question from Anniee882000, can we expect the same for Lafa later on? Babs: Only one game? I thought first violation was kept quiet, second was 4 games, third a year. Has this changed? Please advise.

Bernard’s not really a run-stuffer anyways but I was wondering why they were playing Bryant in Bernard’s spot against the Raiders. He went most of the game so they D-Line should be in good hands.

I think Lofa got a bye because it was his 1st violation. Don’t quote me on that though. So Bernard and Babo…..hmmm…..

Yes, Lofa and Marshawn Lynch had first offenses. Bernard did something stupid a few years ago. I don’t remember what? Can anyone help me out? I know he was with Hamlin at the night club in ’05 but I don’t think that was an offense of his.

I think he took a poke at a (ex?) girlfriend who may or may not have been invited to his birthday party.
I know these guys are young, have testosterone running out of their ears, and have never been held accountable the way mere mortals are, but wouldn’t ya think they would know not to drive drunk or slap the girlfriend? That sort of behavior never leads to anything good.
Do we have any idea what “substance” Babineaux abused? I hope it wasn’t a recreational drug, as that would put him in the MORON category with the other two.

Two kickers.

Any chance Bernard can appeal the suspension? After all, he wasn’t convicted:
"Seahawks DT Rocky Bernard’s domestic violence case will be dismissed if he complies with a series of stipulations for two years.
Bernard was arrested in April when a former girlfriend said he hit her at a bar. The “order of continuance" is not a conviction, so we’re guessing it will help Bernard avoid a league suspension.?” -Rotoworld

Good point. How is it that Leonard Little isn’t in prison (even though he murdered a woman while driving drunk–beyond drunk)? And “Lofa” got more of a handshake than a slap on the wrist? For that matter how is it O.J. Simpson got away with two murders or Ted Kennedy skated out in 1969? Because the rich and famous and powerful can get the best ‘justice’ money can buy, when being sports stars doesn’t get them a pass on its own.
