Julian Peterson, Lofa Tatupu, Deon Grant quotes

LB JULIAN PETERSON

On losing to a three-win team:
"I take my hat off to the Falcons, but it’s not going to change our momentum. We don’t enter the postseason on a positive note, but we will do what we’ve got to do. Listen, we were ready to play today. They were ready to play too. You know they get paid just like we get paid. They’ve got pride just like we do. They came out to play in their last game before a home crowd. They executed, and made more plays than we did. I’ll tell you, I thought Chris Redman did a good job for them. He scrambled away from pressure a few times. He was faster than I thought he was."

Matt Hasselbeck quotes

I’m OK. I banged my wrist a little bit early in the second quarter. Got x-rays. Negative. Iced it. Threw some tape on there. Probably throw some tape on there on the flight home so it doesn’t swell. But I’m fine.

How he got injured: "I was throwing the ball away and I hit the ground. I don’t know if I landed on it or somebody else landed on it. But I fell awkwardly. It happened early in the second quarter. It was the first drive."

Postgame locker room

First and foremost, both Mike Holmgren and Matt Hasselbeck said he was fine. They said he banged up his wrist but that he will be able to play next week. Matt said he injured it early in the second quarter, then went in after halftime to get the wrist x-rayed. Matt said he would be able to practice this week. He said he was going to tape the wrist on the plane ride home to keep the swelling down. I will take what they say at face value, but I will also say there seemed to be an awful lot of concern on the sidelines during the game for something that they say is trivial. The week, obviously, will tell as it plays out. Hopefully he is OK and the wrist does not affect his ability to throw the ball.

Atlanta tacks on field goal, leads 44-34

Morten Anderson just kicked a 32-yard field goal to put Atlanta ahead 44-34 with 3:23 left. I am heading down to the field, but it appears the Seahawks are going to drop to 10-6. Of more concern is the health of Matt Hasselbeck, who looks as if he is nursing a wrist injury on his throwing arm. As soon as I get word on the injury, I’ll update the blog, plus provide more postgame stuff.

The Ship be sinking

To quote Michael Ray Richardson. Seneca Wallace just threw an interception to Chris Crocker, and on the next play Redman threw a touchdown to Roddy White after Marcus Trufant missed a tackle. The Falcons lead, 41-27.

Seahawks fumble, Falcons score again

Jonathan Babineaux, brother of Jordan, beat Ray Willis and grabbed Seneca Wallace, who fumbled. It was recovered by the Falcons at Seattle’s 15. Three plays later, Redman hit Alge Crumpler for another TD pass, giving the Falcons a 34-27 lead.
