Friday’s practice was pretty uneventful, the team going through its regular routine. Needless to say, no game balls were distributed. Bill Macatee, who is announcing the game for CBS, commented that he missed the Seahawks since realignment because he does mostly AFC games. He was saying that he was impressed with the organization and how it was run, particularly compared to other teams, where the players are goofing around at practice. Mike Holmgren runs a very disciplined, clean practice where the players all are engaged.

C.J. Wallace, who was placed on the injured reserve with a knee injury a few weeks ago, stopped by to say hello to all his teammates. He was wearing a brace but did not have a noticeable limp.

D.J. Hackett practiced and looked pretty good, Holmgren said, but is not likely to play on Sunday. Josh Wilson has not progressed as far as Hackett. Rocky Bernard did not practice and Holmgren said he was a game-time decision, though I’m guessing he plays, as he has done all year.

Holmgren did not know at the time that we interviewed that Brian Billick ruled out Ray Lewis. He said that Lewis is one of the best football players he has ever seen. He said the Seahawks have to be more worried about what they do than what is going on with the Ravens.

NEWSFLASH: Holmgren said he thought they had a good week of practice.

I spoke with Walter Jones to see if he had any relationship with Jonathan Ogden. He said he only made the Pro Bowl twice in the AFC, and so has not really gotten to know him. He said they have spoken by the pool in Hawaii a few times, but other than that, though. I asked where he and Ogden rank among left tackles. Boling and Clare Farnsworth say Anthony Munoz is the best of all time. Walter said he likes to think he is.
