  1. I’m thinking our rush defense is slightly better than their rush offense, and our pass offense is way better than their pass defense.

    A ten point Seattle win.

    ==================================

Wow! Must be tough to be an Atlanta fan about now.

  2. 10 points on the road is big?
plus third trip back East in a month.

This could be a trap game.

  3. I was amazed to see how far their offense has fallen off. Other than a game against the 49ers, they’ve averaged less than 10 pts/game in the last seven:

  4. rorygee, I agree it would be easy for the Hawks to exhale after clinching in emotional fashion, but the Panthers offense looks pretty bad. It’s certainly no sure thing.

  5. The mark of a quality team is that they win the games they are supposed to win. In 2005, that’s what we did.

  6. PapaHawk says:

They’re going to try to jam it down out throats. That is what they do best, and then hope it opens things up for Steve Smith. If the Hawks can control their running game early, should be good. Looks like the Panthers haven’t been able to do much in pressuring the QB, so that should allow Hasselbeck to pick ‘em apart. Big game for Bobby Engram, perhaps. If the Hawks show up and play hard, which I expect they will, this should be a win…but its never easy to win. Can you believe that Carolina lost at home to the Falcons?

  7. I don’t see them exhaling too much… there’s still a slim chance to grab the #2 seed, but they have to win out.

  8. the panthers have a running game?

same ol’ panthers – all they’ve got is steve smith.

we showed them the exit door in 2005, and we’ll do it to them again, too. hell, they’re just 1-5 at home.

  9. truehawk says:

Agree, should be a romp, and Matt should have a great day running the offense.
We just need to play sound in the run game and play well in special team situations and we should be fine………..I would like to see the offense put up another 40 pts or so and really show us all that they have hit their stride!
    I say Hawks – 31 Panthers – 13

Shaun runs 15 times for 39 yds, and Mo runs 8 times for 76 yds…and a touch.

  10. I learned long ago not to make predictions – they only lead to disappointment. Besides any road game makes me nervous with this team. We will see this weekend if the Hawks are truly on a steamroll finish or were just sprinting to the NFC West title.

  11. In the “Turnover Differential” row, what does the number in parenthesis refer to?

  12. In the “Turnover Differential” row, what does the number in parenthesis refer to?

Oops, sorry for the dbl post, but if it refers to team ranking for that criterion (Turnover Differential) it seems awfully strange that with a plus 13 record Hawks are ranked #13, and CAR, with only a plus 1 record are ranked #15.

  13. SupaFreak says:

klm008, thats (t3) not (13) for the Seahawks, in other words, tyed for 3rd in the NFL overall! Yeah, the Seahawks are bad like that! Awesome job forcing turnovers this year while not turning it over too much ourselves. Let’s hope that continues this week!

  14. Living in NC I have gotten the chance to watch the Panthers way too much and I have to say their offense is awful. Testaverde isn’t going to light anyone up downfield so that leaves the defense crowding the line which shuts down the running game. Their defense is decent, but hasn’t generated much pass rush which is bad with the Hawks coming to town.
