OK, maybe “love” is a bit too strong but us guys and gals in the press appreciate an athlete like Matt Hasselbeck because he is so at ease with the press. Take this exchange from Wednesday:

Are you taking your kids trick-or-treating?

“I am. We’ve got a mermaid, my one daughter is a mermaid, my other daughter is a football player, and my 2-year-old son, Henry, is Captain Hook.”

Which player is your daughter going as?

“I think she’s wearing No. 8 if she wants any candy.”

What are you going to be for Halloween?

“I’m going as the Burger King Guy.”

(IF you’ve seen the commericals of the King running around in tights, that’s how the Seahawks’ QB is dressing like. Good stuff.)

  1. Halloween just isn’t the same without the Grant Wistrom Costume Bash

  2. That’s hilarious! here’s a link to the original commercial that makes this so funny:

  3. Gotta get a picture of that.

  4. seattleskillz says:

Thx for the link lloydg, that was great! Was that what aired originally? I do remember the commercials, just don’t recall Matt getting creamed by a dude in tights. Too funny!

  5. i don’t care what anyone says, i LOVE the king! that ad campaign is HIGH-larious!

though, hasselbeck in tights… i think i can avoid that one.

  6. Not absolutely certain, but that looks like the Bills’ away unis, which would put this circa 2004+ (the year we played the AFC East).

  7. You can tell who is the smartest in the Hasselbeck family. The wife she isn’t dressing up.

  8. bobbyk03 says:

Good stuff — too bad Numbskull hates him (or why the hell would he go into a season with Gray or Womack at a starting guard).

  9. PapaHawk says:

That was a terrible game, that typified that brutal season. I was at that game, with the flu, on a beautiful fall SEattle day, and watched Willis McGahee score four TD’s as the Bills crushed the lifeless Seahawks. This was the year before Ruskell came to the Hawks. If you thought the Saints game was bad? This one, five times worse. At least the Hawks gave themselves a chance to make that game interesting. Who was that giving up the sack to the King? Starting RT- either Floyd Womack or Chris Terry, can’t tell….
