Quick notes and observations from Wednesday’s Seahawks practice:

* WR D.J. Hackett (ankle) looked good, making several impressive catches. One was a long pass from Hasselbeck down the sideline that drew some oohs and ahhs from the players.

* QB Matt Hasselbeck (oblique) participated in almost all of the offensive plays and threw the ball with zip although he did roll his shoulder a few times. He said the injury was painful last week and is something he’s going to have to deal with.

* DE Darryl Tapp (hand) practiced with a big, black cast on his right hand. He said he’s trying to get used to it although the cast he uses in practice is bigger than the one he’ll use come Sunday.

* OL Floyd “Pork Chop” Womack played both guard positions with the first-team offense, subbing in for Rob Sims twice and Chris Gray another time.

* TE Marcus Pollard (knee), WR Deion Branch (foot) and OL Ray Willis (knee) did not practice.

  1. I’d be guessing that Pollard, Branch and Willis are all inactive on Sunday.

I wouldn’t be surprised to Chop in the game for a spell on Sunday either.

I wonder if Alexander will be wearing a cast on Sunday?

Even if $haunie doesnt have a cast, it will take a few weeks for his strenght in his arm to be where it was. Dont look for him to do any killer stiff arms with it if it’s off.

  3. “He said the injury was painful last week and is something he’s going to have to deal with.”

That is a very bad sign. Historically, Hasselbeck has played poorly with injuries that he supposedly could play through “merely” with pain – 2001, 2004, late 2006. I am still in shock that a veteran QB and WR combo could miss each other wide open with a Divisional Playoff game on the line in Overtime.

His best years were when he was injury free – 2002, 2003, 2005 and eary 2007.

  4. Darrin, is Shaun still wearing the cast? What do you mean when you say Matt ‘Rolled his shoulder a few times’? He moved it around after a play to stretch it out (as in pain)? Or did he fall over and roll on it?

  5. Darrin Beene says:

On Hasselbeck’s shoulder roll.. just kind of shaking it around, trying to loosen up some. If he had been tackled while wearing the red jersey, Holmgren would have killed someone… Yes, Shaun’s wearing a cast. Holmgren said it’s as small as it can be until he gets it off.. and no, Holmgren didn’t say when that would be…

  6. VoodooF101 says:

The Jacksonville Jaguars signed defensive tackle Grady Jackson to a one-year contract Wednesday and placed defensive tackle Tony McDaniel on injured reserve.

  7. They will need him they way its looking with stroud. maybe they saw this coming?..

  8. bobbyk03 says:

no sh!t they saw it coming
