12 14 2006 Picks For Week 15.jpgThis is turning into a very mediocre year in the weekly picks. Week 15 records: Me 9-7, Wife 10-6. Season-to-date on the blog: Me 119-72, Her 113-78.

One I saw coming: Philly over the Giants. One she saw coming: Steelers over the Panthers. Two we both whiffed on: Skins over Saints, Niners over Hawks. One that made no sense: The Titans beating the Jaguars despite gaining 98 total yards. You have to wonder if Jags QB David Garrard can become consistent enough for his team to take that next step in the playoffs.

One good thing as far as the picks are concerned: The playoff races are coming down to the final weeks. Chicago has clinched home-field advantage through the NFC playoffs, but the AFC race remains competitive at the top. The NFC race remains competitive everywhere else. We’re not looking at a few teams tanking it (intentionally) over the final two weeks in preparation for the playoffs.
