Water pooling on the field

12 14 2006 Wet Qwest.jpgForget the wind for a moment. This stadium is practically underwater. The field is a mess. Only a few spots are keeping their tufts above water. This reminds me of that game in Kansas City back in 1998. The stands are sparsely populated. People are either staying inside concourses and lounges or they are simply staying home. Wow.

The temperature is about 52 degrees. Water is cascading down the steps toward the field. There are unconfirmed reports of salmon trying to navigate their way up into the second level. I don’t see how they’ll be able to execute the passing game very cleanly in these conditions. Shaun Alexander and Frank Gore might get 50 carries apiece. Perhaps they’ll prove me wrong on that. At least the field isn’t natural grass.
