The 49ers honored Steve Young at halftime of their 2005 home game against Seattle. Young had recently been selected for the Hall of Fame. The 49ers plan to honor Jerry Rice at halftime Sunday. “Jerry Rice will officially retire from football as a member of the San Francisco 49ers. … The momentous halftime ceremony will include a video montage of Rice and an address by the future Hall of Famer.” Rice played his final game for the Seahawks before going to camp with Denver.

You mistakenly said the ‘Seahawks’ honored Steve Young…

  2. The Seahawks honored him, too, but letting the 49ers back into the game. Seriously, thanks for the heads up. It’s fixed.

    Mike,
Will there be any coverage of the ceremony?
They usually don’t show the half time events during the game.
I would really like to see it. Afterall, Jerry Rice played his last game as a Seahawk. I think that’s pretty awesome!
