Offense ‘improves’ over weekend

The Raiders are surely busy retooling their game plan now that they’ll be facing the NFL’s 21st-ranked offense in Seattle tonight. The Seahawks entered the weekend ranked 23rd on both sides of the ball (in total yards). Their defensive ranking remained unchanged after Sunday, but the offense inched up a couple of spots. The Raiders’ defensive ranking slipped one spot to No. 9. Now ESPN can’t market this as a matchup between the NFL’s 23rd-ranked offense and eighth-ranked defense. They’ll have to say it’s between the NFL’s 21st-ranked offense and ninth-ranked defense. Not sure how that will affect ratings.

  1. Mike I’m happy to report there won’t be ratings. Nobody outside of Oakland and Seattle (well maybe Canada if there’s not a good hockey game on) will be watching this game.

Seneca Wallace vs Andrew Walters….ohhh smell the drama.

My guess is that the offense will drop to 26 – 32nd by Tuesday.

  3. sidetracker says:

i noticed that espn is promoting the game as “randy moss” vs. “deion branch.” wow, no love for d-jack from the national media.

  4. ElPerroGrandeDos says:

Deion Branch is a Super Bowl MVP, one of only 3 WRs to be a Super Bowl MVP … enough said!

  5. HawkFromDay1 says:

Ok fine: “Randy Moss vs. Darrell Jackson” Still, not exactly Manning vs. Brady, or Lewis Vs. Urlacher.

  6. ElPerroGrandeDos says:

It is pouring down rain with heavy wins. My guess is no one will be able to pass. So it is our defense versus the Raider running game versus our running game versus the Raider defense. Sounds like a BLOW-OUT to me! Raiders win huge, Holmgren is fired, Ruskell is fired and we spend the rest of the season hoping and praying that Allen hire’s a Head Coach who has heard of defense and special teams in addition to offense.

  7. vichawkfan says:

prediction : Wallace leads the game in rushing yards.

  8. ElPerroGrandeDos says:

I’d buy that … let’s hope so … hopefully as our o-line is being shoeved backwards the rain and wind will trip up the
Raider defensive players as they are pile drving our o-line into the ground and S.W. can run outside …

Are you gonna bark all day, little doggie?

  10. Kristian says:

I’m outside Washington and Los Angeles and I’ll be watching all the way from over here in the center of Pennsylvania. I’m psyched! Go Hawks.

  11. bobbyk03 says:

Redwood Falls, Minnesota will be watching the game!

With the Bears getting owned yesterday in Chicago, the Saints getting hammered last week by the Ravens, and the Lions kicking the crap out of the Falcons… I’m excited again!!! Still much to improve on but if they do… we still have time to have a special season!!! If so, I know of a warm destination in early Feb that I will vacationing at…

Dear Offensive Line – PLEASE IMPROVE! Dear Secondary – PLEASE COVER WRS INSTEAD OF EMPTY SPACE! Dear Special Teams – PLEASE DO SOMETHING “SPECIAL” EVERY ONCE IN AWHILE!
