The differences are obvious and significant. The similarities just struck me as they were making this move. This current defense would be OK with a Kerry Joseph type at safety as long as he stuck to his assignments. That’s what they wanted from Joseph then and that’s what they want from Babineaux now.

First, the quote from Tongue was: “It’s unfair”. The quote from Boulware “I’ve let me team down.”

Second, Kerry Joseph was a converted QB who never had any business being anything more than an NFL special teamer. Jordan Babineaux has earned a shot to be an NFL starting safety.

Third, the move in 2000 didn’t really help anything. This move will.
