ESPN 700 The TicketWe have some bonus audio today thanks to my friends at the ESPN radio affiliate in Spokane. Dennis Patchin and Julie Scott have me on there when they can’t find anyone better, and they were nice enough to pass along the audio. This one runs about eight minutes. We talked about the impact of losing Sean Locklear to suspension, and what to expect with Jordan Babineaux in the lineup.

Sando, do you have any stats on how many NFL teams are playing this week with a backup quarterback? Or playing with a QB who wasn’t the starter at the season’s onset? Are we just one of many? That would be interesting.

Is there any stat that breaks down the percentage of starters on a team that aren’t playing? It seems like we are not alone in the injury circus, maybe just injured at more critical positions?

  2. Easy to break it down. Look at the standings ( and go team by team. I would do it, but tonight is a little Halloween party for my kids’ preschool. I’ll be out doing that for a while, then regroup tonight before catching an early flight to KC tomorrow.

Sando, I have noticed you have smirky little jokes on every radio show to open up. This is good, except I think the blogeteers should have some say in the jokes. Here’s mine.

Radio: “Thanks for joining us Mike”
Sando: “You bet, although I was almost suspended for coming on your show because I beat the hell out of my wife (in reference to Sean Locklear).

If you start off that way I’m sure you’ll gain the respect of…. ummmm… Jim Rome.

  4. D_Master says:

Okay, DON’T actually say that, I don’t want you to get fired and loose the blog.

  5. Mike,
Any word on if Wallace has a favorite reciever he likes working with or has a “connection” with?

  6. PhilKenSebben says:

that is a terrible idea. he is the writer.

also, I have to say that Sando is always an EPIIIC call.

    rack ‘em

So D_Master…that off color comment would suggest that you’re either in the prime of adolesence or even worse, that you’re a grown man trying to be cute & clever. Sorry to sound so snide but this blog is provided for all of us fans to get some great inside information from a journalist who takes the time (away from his fam) to get it to us. And not intended as a personal sounding board to launch your career as a comedian. Maybe I’m being too harsh. Then again, maybe I appreciate having this site available for viewing & would like it to remain that way.

  8. Mike,

You’ve really gotten good at the live analysis. Its a long way since the early days of the round table.

Keep it up, I look forward to these every week – especially the Sirius audio. The Brock audio is fantastic as well.
