View From Hotel.jpgThe Seahawks will miss the 12th Man today, but if they’re going to play in Chicago, it might as well be early in the season. There’s not a cloud in view as I look out the hotel window (cell-phone image at right).

Weather people are expecting a high temperature of 73 and a low of 56. Forecasters predict 67-degree weather at kickoff and 62-degree weather near game’s end, with winds at 8-10 mph from the south/southeast.

The Seahawks (and beat writers) should thank the league for not scheduling this one for mid-December.

With such a late start, what do you do with yourself today Mike? Is there access to the team? Doing some early holiday shopping for Sandowife?

  2. vichawkfan says:

    Catch an Oprah taping?

  3. Perfect weather – lots better playing there now than in late December.

  4. I get sleep, which doesn’t always happen at home (two kids under age 6). Today I’ll watch games around the league, which is something I rarely get to do on game days. And I fiddle around with some of my Excel stuff (wife rolling eyes as she reads this). The idea of getting to a city and sight-seeing went away after a couple years of doing this. The only recent exception was on the DC trip. I did go to the Vietnam Veterans’ memorial on that trip. Memorable. And I did go to the Ford Museum during the Super Bowl trip to Detroit. Incredible.

    I didn’t know a Motel 6 had a second floor!

    Eyes are rolling.

Hey Mike, get some rest. you earned it. there are two good games on early. Bal/SD and CAR/NO

It looks nice, but I prefer to live here because we have mountains here that Chicago doesn’t have any mountain. Enjoy your mini vacation in Chicago. I hope you will try the chicago pizza.

  9. Before the season, who knew someone would call CAR/NO a good game–and be right?

  10. And how about NYJ & Indy!

  11. iqbal70 says:

The Hawks got a little lucky with the schedule this year: Chicago in early October and Tampa Bay in late December. Switch those two and the road to the Super Bowl might have been tougher. Watch out for that eye rolling Mike.
