Practice-squad RB Marquis Weeks expects to sign a two-year contract making him active for the game Sunday against the Bears. The Seahawks haven’t announced anything yet, and coach Mike Holmgren said they’ll wait until the last minute, which would be Saturday at 1 p.m. PDT. We’ll let you know if/when we get official word. …

In other game-related news, the Seahawks-Bears flip card is here and Mike Holmgren will presumably be thrilled to see the same replay official who did not challenge Keyshawn Johnson’s disputed TD at Qwest Field in the Dallas-Seattle game two years ago.

Totallly off topic… but I just wanted to give a BIG shout out to our boy DJax for being the number one scoring fantasy receiver through 3 weeks (in both ESPN and Yahoo leagues… probably in most other also)! Way to go DJax! Glad to see you back!

  2. I am a Weeks fan. Who gets cut?

  3. PhilKenSebben says:

    Yay! Depth!

  4. 2 years? That’s about 31 games (minus playoff’s and preseason) too long!

OK. I’ve liked they guy ever since last years pre-season, but how realistic is it that he makes the team when SA comes back? and then into next year?

Why 2 years? Why not just for the season? Do they think that highly of him?

  5. joeypk07 says:

The 2 years might be to spread a signing bonus over two seasons?

Have enjoyed what Weeks has brought to the table in the limited preseason action he’s seen. Maybe a situational 3rd down back on Sunday? With Weaver out and Shaun limping around, there isn’t much depth. Thank goodness Mack has stayed healthy and on fire!

  7. lemonverbena says:

Mike, is it Nate Bur-LE-son, or Nate Burrle-son? i’ve heard both pronunciations.

  8. Mike, if he won’t be signed till the last minute, and he’s on the practice squad, can he practice with the starters between now and then?

  9. Weeks has been practicing all the time. That’s the idea with practice-squad players; they practice just like any other player. They’ll have a walkthrough tomorrow, probably.

fyi… I used to pronounce marquis weeks mar-kee
I found out it’s pronounced marcus

  11. eatayork says:

I thought it was pronounced mar-KEES?

  12. Spelled Marquis, pronounced Marcus.

  13. Weeks 2yr is meaningless as that he will probably go back to practice squad in a few weeks . If he puts up huge numbers than Hawks have the contract , but average set up . 10X $$$ per game minimum over practice squad money though ;)
