We’re down to 20 players (not counting kickers and punters) who have participated in every full-squad practice since training camp opened July 29. Those who make it all the way through the season get the satisfaction of knowing they’re part of a tough group. A few guys have missed practices while tending to personal matters. Some of them probably deserve extra commendation for tending to things that really matter. We’ll point out those guys in the end. For now, the list includes only those who have been there every day.

By my accounting, the 20 guys with perfect full-squad participation are: Matt Hasselbeck, David Greene, Seneca Wallace, Marcus Trufant, Ken Hamlin, Kelly Herndon, Mack Strong, Oliver Celestin, Julian Peterson, D.D. Lewis, Kevin Bentley, Chris Gray, Rob Sims, Sean Locklear, Nate Burleson, Will Heller, Chuck Darby, Chris Cooper, Craig Terrill and Bryce Fisher.

Some other guys have participated in every practice since they’ve been on the roster, but we’re tracking guys who’ve been here for the duration. The ironmen.

After what happened last October 17th, it amazes me that Ken Hamlin is on that list.

Dang thats horrible, the horse that is. Not the ironmen.

  3. Mike, is this something that the players are aware of and take pride in? Also, have any players or coaches given an indication that they read the blog?

  4. I would doubt players are thinking much about the attendance thing. It might mean something to them at the end of the season, if anyone makes it that far. … I do not know how many coaches and players read the blog. I’ve heard some feedback on it.

There are two things that don’t surprise me: That none of the QBs have missed a practice (no contact in drills) and that so many linemen are on that list. Those guys are tough as nails. I mean, Chris Gray’s been in the league how many years? And to not miss a practice? I’m guessing that’s something he does take a lot of pride in. I know I would.

Mike, any chance you can get some of the players to post here? Be nice to get some perspective from them. I know most of them are too busy to put down their xboxes but you never know.

  7. I’m not Mike, but I think I can answer that question – the answer would be no. The Seahawks have extremely tight control over their personnel, including players, staff, cheerleaders, front office. All public communications, appearances, etc, must be approved by the Seahawks front office.

I’m sure they lurk here (and other places) but they won’t post.
