Allen Paul.jpgForbes’ annual list of America’s richest people features Seahawks owner Paul Allen at No. 5. I’m not sure how accurate these rankings are, but they’re not a bad read. Check out the Allen entry here. Forbes dropped him from third to fifth with an estimated worth of $16 billion, a figure that apparently takes into account previously ignored debt. The Seahawks are mentioned high in the profile: “Former Microsoft geek added considerable luster to jock credentials this year when his … Seahawks went to the Super Bowl.”

  1. Not bad considering the last time he held a job was 1981.

  2. Sharpclaws says:

You sign QB Hasselbeck, RB Alexander, OT Walter Jones, WR
Nate Burleson, AND WR Deion Branch and see just how far down
the list you would drop! *laughing*
    GO SEAHAWKS!!!!!

  3. douglasdad says:

The signing bonuses for the ENTIRE team is a rounding error to his accountants.

BTW – Sando, you’re the man.

I missed the Detroit game (I had to work and didn’t believe my wife when she told me they had blocked a second FG) and am indebted to you for the post-game audio. It’s a blessing.

Thanks from the land of the east-coast bias…

Let’s hope the cap does go to the projected $120 mil. by 2008. Seems we may have the $ to spend like Daniel Snyder. On a side note Mike. Do you think Tapp will start to have a bigger impact and get more playing time as the season goes on? I love Wistrom’s motor and heart but with his injuries and Tapp’s speed around the corner I really hope he can make a name for himself as a great pass rusher as he did in college. Subbing for both Wistrom and Fisher.

GO HAWKS and lets here the 12th man this weekend !!

  6. Wistrom is still valuable because he’s a better all-around player (good vs. run). Tapp will get more playing time if he continues to make plays. I’d be surprised if they went to him as a starter before next season.

  7. The dude who owned World Trade Complex made 7 Billion off insurance policy.

That he so happened to install when he bought the place to be insured by Terroristic attacks.

  8. SeanCarney says:

Mike i think you said “world’s richest” when in fact you ment to say America’s richest. :)

  9. Good catch. I’m familiar with the world’s-richest list. It is America’s richest. THANKS.
