Softball: Wilson HS sisters toss back-to-back no-hitters

Sisters Janessa and Alex Flynn threw back-to-back no-hitters this week for Wilson’s softball team.

On Tuesday, Alex Flynn allowed no hits or walks to Capital in a 10-0 win for the Rams. It would have been a perfect game, if not for a pair of errors.

Janessa Flynn fired a no-hitter against Yelm on Wednesday, leading the Rams to a 7-0 win.

Here’s a link to the box scores. Wilson sits atop the Narrows League 3A standings with a one game lead over Capital and Yelm.

4A, 3A state softball tournaments moved from SERA

Well, Pierce County, you win some and you lose some.

A week after the WIAA awarded small-school state golf tournaments to various Pierce County golf courses, it took away the 4A and 3A state softball tournaments.

The 4A tournament will be played at Merkel Sports Complex in Spokane and 3A has been moved to Lacey’s Regional Athletic Complex. The tournaments had been played at SERA in Tacoma.

You can read more about the WIAA’s decision and information on possible changes to the state volleyball tournament here.
