Prep Zone: Friday edition

Thursday’s highlights

Fourteen state-qualifying marks were turned in when North Thurston and River Ridge got together for a girls swim meet. River Ridge’s Shannell Sullenberger and Kiana Sullenberger and North Thurston’s Arriya Hagen recorded two a piece.

Beamer’s Rachel Kim swam state-qualifying times in the 500 free (5:15.36) and 100 breaststroke (1:09.23), but the Titans fell to Curtis, 104-80.

Decatur’s girls golf team handed Enumclaw its first league loss in years, winning 139-129. The Gators’ Amanda Beyke and the Hornets’ Kelly Sweeney shared medalist honors, shooting 3-over 39 at Twin Lakes.

Prep Zone: Friday edition

Thursday’s highlights

Beamer scored five runs in the bottom of the seventh, rallying for a 9-8 win against Graham-Kapowsin. Jeff Apigo hit a home run and drove in four runs for the Titans.

Jefferson’s Mitch McQueen earned the win and hit a home run in the Raiders’ 6-5 eight-inning victory over Kentlake.

Tahoma’s Lance Schroder went 3-for-5 with a home run, double, four RBI and two runs in the Bears’ 13-3 win at Auburn.

What to watch today

The Narrows League boys soccer title is at stake when South Kitsap visits Stadium tonight.

Where: Stadium High School

Beamer can take a big step toward claiming the SPSL South boys soccer title with a win against Puyallup. A Vikings victory, however, would keep Puyallup and Decatur in the hunt.

Wednesday’s highlights

Rogers’ Devon Barker tossed a complete game, fanning eight, as the Rams won 13-3 at Beamer.

Tuesday’s highlights

Rogers coach Jaclyn Ramsey earned her 100 th victory in the Rams’ 11-0 win at Spanaway Lake. Bobbi-Jo Schaapveld went 5-fot-5 with four RBI.

Aryn Knutsen hit a home run for Curtis as the Vikings edged Bethel 3-2.

Stefan Van Horn and Cody Dahl combined to throw a one-hitter, leading Rogers to a 12-1 win at Spanaway Lake.

Prep Zone: Tuesday edition

Monday’s highlights

Curtis pitcher Jordan Copeland threw a no-hitter as the Vikings won 15-0 in six innings at Spanaway Lake. Copeland struck out seven.

Stadium scored six runs in the sixth inning, but Central Kitsap rallied for a 9-8 victory, scoring twice in the seventh, to beat the Tigers. Brett McDonald went 3-for-4 with a triple and three RBI and xxx Baumgartner double homered for the Cougars.

Friday’s highlights

Emerald Ridge pitcher Bryan Burgher tossed a no-hitter, striking out seven as the Jaguars beat Beamer 11-0 in five innings. Emerald Ridge scored all of its runs in the fifth inning.

Jacob Baker threw a two-hitter, leading Bethel over Decatur 10-0 in five innings. Baker struck out five and walked one.

Dalton Gervais threw a complete game and did not allow an earned run as Rogers edged Curtis 2-1.

Kentwood’s Kyle Doyle pitched a two-hitter against Auburn Riverside, leading the Conquerors to a 10-0 victory.

Thursday’s highlights

Curtis pitcher Matt Kalalau drove in three runs and picked up the win as the Vikings beat Bethel 10-3.

Graham-Kapowsin’s Devin Bales went 3-for-3, helping the Eagles toppled Beamer 6-1.

David Bigelow tossed a complete game and struck out eight as Gig Harbor rolled over Shelton 13-1.

Tuesday’s highlights

Rogers took over first place in the SPSL South with its 6-3 softball win against Puyallup.

Stadium beat Bellarmine Prep 1-0 in a Narrows League boys soccer match.

Wilson turned a triple play in its 5-0 win against Stadium in a meeting between Narrows League division leaders. Janessa Flynn went 2-for-3 and drove in two runs and earned the victory, scattering four hits as the Rams stayed undefeated

Curtis’ Morgan Arrington went 3-for-3 and tallied 3 RBI in the Vikings’ 7-1 win over Decatur.
