Six new members will be inducted this month into the Washington Interscholastic Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame in two ceremonies.
On July 24 at the Kennewick Red Lion Hotel, Kamiakin’s Don Schumacher and assistant coach Pat Clark, who spent time at Gonzage Prep, North Central and Mead, will be honored.
At the Tacoma Elks Pavilion on July 26, former Auburn coach Tim Cumminings and longtime assistants Monte Walton (Sehome and Ferndale) and Mark Williams, who coached at Fife, Lincoln and Curtis, will be recognized.
Cliff Gillies, former Executive Director of the WIAA, will receive the Ed Pepple Service Award for his contributions to high school basketball. Both banquets begin with a social hour at 5 p.m., followed by dinner and induction ceremony at 6 p.m. Tickets are $30. Contact Dave Dickson at david.dickson(AT)bellinghamschools.org to attend.
