Lincoln boys 77, Franklin 69 for 3A third place

Once again, senior Tre’Shaun Fletcher got it all rolling for the Abes, giving a master performance in his final game – 31 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, two blocked shots – as the Narrows 3A and West Central District champions claimed third place with a 77-69 victory over Franklin at the state basketball championships Saturday.

“It’s the best finish for a Tacoma (public) school in 11 years, so there’s a lot to be proud of,” Lincoln coach Aubrey Shelton said.

Lincoln boys 68, Mountlake Terrace 47 in 3A quarterfinals

This time, it wasn’t so close.

From the second quarter on, third-ranked Lincoln put on a clinic on how to execute at both ends, and the Abes botted up No. 5 Mountlake Terrace, 68-47, in the 3A boys’ basketball quarterfinals Thursday in the Tacoma Dome.

The Abes and Hawks battled to a one-point game in early December – won by Lincoln, 60-59.

This time around, Mountlake Terrace just could not buy a basket, missing its first eight shots. The Hawks never led.
