Williams</em></p> <p>Clear out a spot in the trophy case &#8211; the Curtis High boys basketball team is bringing home a state title.</p> <p>A sizeable crowd made the trek from University Place to watch their high school outlast previously undefeated Jackson 60-56 in the Class 4A state title game at the Tacoma Dome late Saturday evening.</p> <p>With a win, Tim Kelly became the first coach to win large-school classification state titles at two different schools.</p> <p>Kelly won back-to-back state titles at Lincoln in 2001 and 2002. 		<description><![CDATA[<p>The Bulldogs withstood a gigantic effort from Timberwolves forward Jason Todd to advance to the trophy round.</p> <p>Todd, a 6-foot-5 sophomore, erupted for 29 points, going 10 for 15 from the field. He also pulled down 15 rebounds.</p> <p>Behind a balanced scoring attack, Garfield never trailed. Three players scored in double-figures, led by guard Tucker Haymond&#8217;s 19 points and 10 rebounds. Pierre Wright added 16 points and Trevaunte&#8217; Williams had 12 points.</p>]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[<p>The top-ranked Rams&#8217; start was certainly a luxury &#8211; a 22-3 lead in the first 91/2 minutes of the game &#8211; but the No. 6 Timberwolves never really were knocked cold until the fourth quarter.</p> <p>Sophomore Brittany McPhee was sensational for Mount Rainer with 22 points, nine rebounds and three blocked shots. With the postseason drawing near, I’ve compiled some links that relate to legues and teams outside of the TNT’s coverage area that will likely make the playoffs so South Sound fans can stay apprised of what’s going on outside our region.</p> <p>Issaquah, last season’s Class 4A runner-up, began the season as top-5 team. But the Eagles struggled early, losing to Bothell and Mount Si in the first two weeks of the season.
