Flynn quits football at Bellarmine Prep to concentrate on hoops

Isaiah Flynn, the returning starting tailback at Bellarmine Prep, has decided not to turn out for his senior football season, coach Tom Larsen confirmed Friday.

Flynn told coaches he wants to concentrate on basketball — the Lions are on the short list of state championship contenders in the upcoming season. He is a starting guard on the squad.

When he was healthy, Flynn was a workhorse-type tailback for the Lions, who advanced to the Class 4A semifinals in 2010, losing to Ferris of Spokane, and reached the quarterfinals last season, losing to Skyview of Vancouver.
