Garfield boys 80, Arlington 68 for 4A third place

Tucker Haymond and the No. 1 Bulldogs did not want to leave Tacoma with another round of disappointment – and they didn’t in clinching third place after an 80-68 victory over Arlington for third place in the Class 4A state boys’ basketball championships at the Tacoma Dome on Saturday afternoon.

Garfield boys 62, Bothell 50 in 4A quarterfinals

The Garfield boys basketball team accomplished something tough to do during a season – beat a team three times.

But even more impressive for the Bulldogs in their 62-50 win over Bothell is the fact that the Cougars have three Division I-level players on the roster, led by UCLA-bound guard Zach LaVine.

With the win, the Bulldogs move on to face Curtis in the Class 4A boys state semifinals on Friday.
