Class 4A boys: No. 1 Davis 79, Bothell 45

Four Pirates scored in double-figures and Davis shot a blistering 65.4 percent from the field, earning a second straight trip to the state semifinals.

“We’ve been waiting for this all week,” said guard David Trimble, who totaled 13 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.

Forward Devonte Luckett scored 23 points on 11-for-15 shooting from the field and grabbed 11 rebounds. Guard Cooper Kupp poured in 19, going 3-for-5 from beyond the arc, and guard Raymond Navarro added 11 points, hitting all three of his 3-point attempts.

Bothell guard Zach LaVine managed to score 20 points, but Davis made him work hard for his points. LaVine went 8 for 20 from the field. Perrion Callandret chipped in 12 points.

1. Yakima Davis (20-2)

Making their third straight trip to state, the Pirates are primed to make a run at what would be their first championship since 1965. Davis’ losses have been to 3A No. 1 Kamiakin and Post Falls, the second-ranked Class 5A team in Idaho. With no players taller than 6-foot-4, the Pirates push the ball on offense and apply pressure on defense. Davis is balanced, with guards David Trimble and Raymond Navarro and forward Devonte Luckett averaging double-figures in scoring, and guard Cooper Kupp and Levonte Allen aren’t far behind.
