Football: Another wild finish in SPSL 2A?

Earlier today, I posted our Class 2A football playoff projections and briefly outline the postseason scenarios in the SPSL 2A. Because there are so many possible outcomes, I wanted to provide a more in-depth explanation on the matter.

But first, here are this week’s matchups, along with each team’s league record:

Franklin Pierce (5-1) at Washington (3-3)
Clover Park (2-4) at Steilacoom (4-2)
White River (5-1) at Sumner (2-4)
Eatonville (2-4) at Fife (1-5)

Football: Clover Park stuns Sumer, 25-14

Pritchett’s touchdown jaunt to close the third quarter took the wind out of Sumner’s sails. Pritchett appeared

Clover Park’s Pritchard commits to WSU

Tana Pritchard didn’t need long to consider the offer.

“I grew up rooting for the Cougars, it would have been too hard for me to turn this offer down,” Pritchard told Cougfan.com. “It was a lot easier decision than it was hard.”

Pritchard, who committed on Friday, will follow in the footsteps of his father and uncle, who both played for the Cougars. Dad David was a center on the 1981 Holiday Bowl team and uncle Jack Thompson was a quarterback.

More on Narrows League changes, reclassification

I’ve got a few pieces of information about reclassification and potential league makeovers to add to this story about the Narrows League expanding to 15 schools that ran in Tuesday’s newspaper, which said that Capital, North Thurston, Timberline and Yelm will become members of the 30-year-old conference, beginning next fall.

It looks like the Narrows League will not add any other schools. I spoke today with Bellarmine Prep athletic director Ed Ploof and the Narrows League set an Oct. 1 deadline for applications to join the league and no other schools have submitted an application. Of course, when we went through this same enrollment count process two years ago, Shelton missed the application deadline by months and still gained entry into the Narrows League.
