Tuesday’s highlights

Puyallup’s Scott Kuzminsky struck out 12 batters in eight innings as the Vikings beat rival Emerald Ridge 3-2 in nine innings.

Jordan Copeland, Jacob Hoffman and Rayne Raven each hit home runs for Curtis in the Vikings’ 17-4 win against Spanaway Lake. Bryan Burgher went 3-for-4 for two home runs for the Jaguars.

Austin Voth struck out 10 batters for Kentwood in its 9-1 win at Federal Way.

What to watch today

Kentwood can help solidify its postseason hopes with a win tonight at late game of the Kent Shootout, but the Conquerors will have to beat 4A No. 8 Kentridge and Gary Bell.

Thursday’s highlights

Bellarmine Prep’s boys basketball team beat Mount Tahoma 63-53 and moved into a tie for first place in the Narrows League Bay Division with Olympia. Donald Gaddy paced the Lions with 19 points and nine rebounds.

Lincoln’s Terrell Lewis went 6-for-8 from the field, including three 3-pointers, and scored 16 points in the Abes’ 52-42 win over Gig Harbor as Lincoln maintained its lead in the Bridge Division.

Prep Zone: Wednesday Edition

There were a bunch of big games across the state on Tuesday night. Here are some highlights:

Tuesday’s highlights

Third-ranked Curtis erased a fourth-quarter deficit and escaped Spokane Falls CC with a 51-44 win over Lake City (Idaho). Dominique Williams led the undefeated Vikings (9-0) with 20 points.

Curtis will meet Kentridge in the Spokane Holiday Showcase title game. The Chargers dispatched Shadle Park 58-56. Four players scored in double-figures, led by Gary Bell’s 23-point effort.

Bellarmine Prep knocked off 3A No. 6 Seattle Prep 59-56 in Spokane. Donald Gaddy had 16 points and 8 assists for the Lions and Tommy Joyce chipped in 14 points.

Auburn upset No. 5 Mead, toppling the Panthers 64-59 in overtime at the Wenatchee Holiday Classic. Kevin Henderson led the Trojans with 23 points.
