Winter state championships: All you need to know heading into weekend

Greetings. We hit the final weekend of wrestling, boys swimming and diving and girls gymnastics.

If you are planning on making a Tacoma Dome run, my suggestion – and it is a good one – have a plan. So few options to park around the dome, but so many options in the surrounding areas. So few good places to each inside the dome; so many good places around it.

State girls gymnastics primer: Woodinville, Emerald Ridge headed for showdown in 4A

Friday and Saturday, Exhibition Hall of the Tacoma Dome

Schedule: Friday – 4A team and all-around are from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. 3A/2A/1A team and all-around are from 6:20 p.m. until 10 p.m. Saturday – All individual event finalists compete from 11:20 a.m. until 3 p.m.

2012 team champions: 4A – Mead. 3A/2A/1A – Enumclaw.

4A gymnastics state results

Woodinville won the team title and Kentlake’s Kayla Shira claimed the all-around crown at the Class 4A gymnastics state meet today. You can view the results here.

The 2A/3A competition will begin later tonight, and the individual event competition is scheduled for Saturday.
