The first non-University of Washington event to hit new Husky Stadium?

It comes from the WIAA – the 2013 Emerald City Kickoff Classic.

The annual multi-game event will be held Sept. 7, featuring a Bellevue-Skyline headliner between the reigning Class 3A and 4A state champions.

Other games includ Bothell-Coueur d’Alene (Idaho), Lynden-King’s and Roosevelt-Seattle Prep.

“The return of the Kickoff Classic to Seattle at the brand new Husky Stadium with the four match-ups will be a great Saturday,” WIAA executive director Mike Colbrese said in a released statement. “Our thanks to the University of Washington for hosting this annual event.”

The first nine Emerald City Kickoff Classic blockbusters had been held at Qwest Field, home of the Seattle Seahawks. Because of scheduling conflicts, the game moved to Roos Field in Cheney last season – and now to Husky Stadium.

All-day tickets for the event are $15 for adults, while students and senior citizens are $10.
