4A tournaments at Columbia Basin Racquet Club, Hanford, Richland HS
3A tournaments at Tri-City Court club, Kamiakin High School
2A tournaments at Nordstrom Tennis Center, Seattle
1A/2B/1B tournaments at Yakima Tennis Center

Returning champions: Sammi Hampton, Skyview (4A girls singles), Mitch Stewart, Federal Way (4A boys singles), Nora Tan, Mercer Island (3A girls singles), Daniel Yu/Josh Rasmus, Washington (2A boys doubles), Teddy Grenley/Phillip Grenley, Charles Wright (1A/2B/1B boys doubles), Michelle Lui, Forest Ridge (1A/2B/1B girls singles).

4A skinny: Stewart is a University of Washington commit. The field better hope his legs are tired from running the boys’ 1,600-meter run at Star Track on Thursday, because his ground strokes are unmatched. John Stormans, half of Olympia’s state-winning doubles’ tandem, could be Stewart’s best competition.

4A schedule: Friday – Boys’ doubles start at 8:30 a.m., and singles start at 10 a.m. Girls’ singles start at 8:30 a.m., and doubles start at 10 a.m. Saturday – Both doubles’ finals at 1 p.m., and singles’ finals at 2:30 p.m.

3A skinny: The Mercer Island girls are vying for their fifth consecutive team title – and are heavy favorites behind Tan, who is trying to repeat in singles. Peninsula’s Allie Barry, the West Central District champion, could be a spoiler. … After going undefeated in doubles with brother, Mitchell, en route to the 3A title, Kennedy Catholic’s Jamie Thorp is in the singles’ bracket this week.

3A schedule: Friday – Boys’ singles start at 8:30 a.m., and doubles start at 10 a.m. Girls’ doubles start at 8:30 a.m., and singles start at 10 a.m. Saturday – Both doubles’ finals at noon, and singles’ finals at 1:30 p.m.

2A skinny: The Rasmus-Yu doubles’ squad for Washington will try and make it three 2A titles in a row. But they will need to follow a same route as last season – losing in the district tournament, only to get on a run a state. … Capital’s Ty Gentry, a ninth grader, is undefeated as the Southwest District champion, and should be a contender.

2A schedule: All action both days start at 8 a.m.

1A/2B/1B skinny: The twin Grenley brothers took home the boys’ doubles crown last season – and are bigger and stronger at the net this season. … After barely missing out on the state championships last season, Tarriers’ singles players Austin Kelley and Evan Valentine are in the draw. … Annie Wright’s Samantha Weeks is back after losing in the girls’ singles quarterfinals last season.

1A/2B/1B schedule: Friday – Boys’ doubles start at 9:30 a.m., and singles start at 11 a.m. Girls’ singles and doubles start at 8:30 a.m. Saturday – Boys’ doubles finals at noon, and singles’ finals at 12:30 p.m. Both girls’ singles and doubles finals at 11 a.m.
