The Wilson Rams finished third in the 3A Narrows League regular-season fastpitch standings behind champion North Thurston and Timberline.

For Wilson, though, the postseason means a new season.

That approach worked as Wilson upended North Thurston, 9-2, for the 3A Narrows League tournament championship Friday at Tacoma’s South End Recreation Area.
With the win, Wilson earned the league’s No. 1 seed for the West Central/Southwest bidistrict tournament.

A day after topping Timberline, 3-1, in the tournament semifinals, late-surging Wilson (14-7) won for the fifth consecutive time, getting contributions up and down its lineup. Senior Kaysha Fox said that hasn’t happened too often this season, but hitters five through nine had a combined five hits and two RBI.

North Thurston tied the score at 2 in the second inning, but Wilson pulled away in the fifth.

Wilson sent eight batters to the plate and got four runs on four hits, including a double by Carsen Stanley (2-for-4), who later scored for a 6-2 lead.
