Connor Patterson, a tight end on the Wilson High School football team who will graduating this spring, has been selected to represent the United States in an all-star game against a team from France.
Patteron will play for the American Football Worldwide “Elite” squad that will take on a Under-19 team from France in Paris on March 30.
“This opportunity is a once in a lifetime chance to represent the US in the sport that I love,” Patterson said. “I’m looking forward to putting on that jersey on game day, and going out there to showcase what I can do.”
Last season, Patterson had 31 receptions for 509 yards and six touchdowns.
It will be the first time a high-school team from the United States will play another country’s national team on foreign soil.
Fourteen different states are represented on the 35-man roster.
