* CLASS 4A SEMIFINALS
No. 4 Camas (12-0) vs. No. 1 Skyline (12-0)
1 p.m. Saturday, Tacoma Dome

Coaches: Jon Eagle is in his fifth season at Camas (47-10 record). Mat Taylor is in his fifth season at Skyline (59-10 record).

Road to the semifinals: Camas defeated Arlington in the first round (62-6), and Federal Way in the quarterfinals (65-32). Skyline defeated Lake Stevens in the first round (42-0), and Roosevelt in the quarterfinals (54-21).

About the Papermakers: Expect lots of offense and points featuring the two highest-scoring teams in 4A. And unlike its counterpart, Camas might be a bit undiscovered – but has plenty of offensive firepower behind QB Reilly Hennessey (164-268, 2,495 yards, 24 TDs), who is playing his best football in the postseason (40-52, 508 yards, four TDs). He has targets to stretch the field in WR Zach Eagle (62 catches, 850 yards, seven TDs) in the slot, and TE John Norcross, who also has 12 rushing scores as the team’s “Wildcat” quarterback. Norcross might be the best remaining two-way player in the 4A tournament – he was the GSHL 4A’s defensive player of the year at linebacker.

About the Spartans: What more needs to be said about this program since Taylor took over? Skyline is 17-1 in state-playoff games in the past four-plus seasons, with its only blemish a 2010 title-game loss to Ferris (24-16). It helps that the Spartans have had QB Max Browne (227-317, 3,754 yards, 41 TDs, four INT) at the helm for much of it. Browne is putting the finishing touches on arguably the most illustrious career a quarterback has ever had in Washington. RB Cedric Cooper (116 carries, 760 yards, 11 TDs), a transfer from Foster High, has given this offense an added dimension in the run game. And when the Spartans need a play on defense, they have a pair of reliable LBs in seniors Peyton Pelluer (WSU commit) and Blake Young (70 tackles, 11 sacks).

TNT pick: Camas, 40-37.

“Score Czar”/Computer pick: Skyline, 48-43.
