From Kevin Manning, The News Tribune

Bellarmine Prep is primed for a second straight Narrows League 4A title in volleyball with a 8-0 division record and four games left to play. The Lions host Stadium at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday.

The No. 5 Lions (10-1) are not focusing on the end-sight just yet – in addition to Wednesday’s match with the Tigers is a rematch with last year’s 4A state champion Olympia (Oct. 23) to finish the season.

Bellarmine topped Olympia in four sets (25-27, 25-13, 25-16, 25-11) in the teams’ first matchup Sept. 26, led by Courtney Schwan’s 22 kills and seven aces.

Bellarmine needs to win two of its next four games to mathematically lock up the Narrows 4A title. Gig Harbor is tied at second in the division with Olympia a half-match behind at 6-3. The Tides hold the tie-breaker after winning both matches against the Bears.

Bellarmine’s home game against Olympia will be Senior Night. The Lions only loss of this season came against 4A No. 1 Jackson back in week four.
