Sid Otton

Greetings on a foggy Friday (at least here in Tacoma). Still a lot of important Steptember football to be played continuing tonight with Week 4 action.

Before all that gets going, we have a live-chat treat at 11 a.m. today – Tumwater High’s Sid Otton, the all-time winningest Washington high school football coach. We will run for about 45 minutes from the Tumwater campus this morning. The Thunderbirds play at No. 1 Capital on Saturday night.

Some morning links:

* Curtis High’s EJ Deveaux has to be on the short list of area MVPs through the first month. He led his school to a victory at Puyallup on Thursday night.

* Rushing for 896 yards in three games is almost unheard of. That is the sizzling start Shelton High’s Ralph Kinne is off to.

* Who is Federal Way High’s Albert Havili? Just the most important figure in the football program – one of Class 4A’s best.

* And ex-Lincoln star Lawyer Milloy gets a much-deserved night to shine.

* A nice getting-caught-up column on former South Kitsap coach D.J. Sigurdson, who now serves a different role on Friday nights.
