Rhys Gervais was a second-team all-SPSL South quarterback last fall for Puyallup. He has transferred to Lakes, the school he attended as a freshman.

Rhys Gervais is returning to where his high school career began.

Gervais, who attended Lakes as a freshman, has transferred to the Lakewood school from Puyallup High, Lancers coach Dave Miller confirmed.

Gervais, who was a second-team all-SPSL South quarterback last fall, provides a reloading Lakes squad with a run-pass threat at quarterback. Gervais completed 122 of 231 passes for 1,948 yards, 21 touchdowns and nine interceptions last fall, leading the league in completions, yards and touchdowns.

Gervais and his teammates will participate in the Lakes Passing League July 23-26 at Harry Lang Stadium.

Miller said he has also added a defensive coordinator in Mickey Ahrens. Ahrens previously coached at the University of Puget Sound, Stadium High and Mount Si High.

  1. LakesLancers says:

Woodinville, Bellarmine Prep, Skyview and Camas will be difficult non-league games at the beginning of the 2012 football season for Lakes football. At first, I was thinking Lakes could lose its first 4 non-league games. All of a sudden, I’m thinking the possibilities to go 9-0 into the playoffs is highly probable for Lakes football.
