When fall sports begin in August, some schools will be in new classifications, some will be in new leagues and one new conference will have been created.
This change is a result of the WIAA’s two-year reclassification cycle — it should really move to a four-year cycle, but we’ll save that topic for another day — which begins in the fall. The WIAA has put together a list of all the leagues in the state that you can find here.
The biggest change is in Eastern Washington, where the Columbia Basin/Big 9 broke into three leagues: Mid-Columbia Conference 4A, Mid-Columbia Conference 3A and six schools remain in what is left of the CBBN.
