Mount Tahoma Stadium will be the site of a free football camp June 11-15 for students in grades 8-11. It’s possible a few Seattle Seahawks will make appearances at the camp. Mount Tahoma High football coach Kevin Hanis passes along the information:
In conjunction with the NFL and the National Guard we will have a free football camp for all individuals currently in grades 8 through 11. It will run the week of June 11-15 starting each day at 4:00 PM and ending at 6:00 PM at Mt. Tahoma Stadium. All registered participants will receive a free Nike jersey and daily planner. The following is an overview of the program:
The NFL High School Player Development program addresses challenges facing high school football programs across the country focusing primarily on underserved communities. HSPD serves as a free resource for both high school player and coaches. The program emphasizes safety and concussion awareness, character development and life skills, and football fundamentals.
Registration materials can be picked up from Coach Hanis and must be returned by June 1st. Coaches from Foss and Mt. Tahoma will make up the staff. You can go to the following sites and see the program in action
