Baseball: Roundup of first-round district tournament action

Here’s a look at what happened in the first round of the baseball bi-district tournaments on Tuesday. Links to updated brackets are included, too.

Class 4A West Central/Southwest Bi-District
Tahoma stunned Narrows League champion Olympia 8-7, and here’s a photo gallery from the game, too.

Kentwood routed Gig Harbor 11-0 in five innings.

In other games, Beamer ended the 11-game winning streak of GSHL champion Skyview, beating the Storm 6-0. Titans pitcher Matt Bower struck out 10 and walked one, while Lawyer Braun went 4-for-4 with a triple and two doubles. … Puyallup beat South Kitsap and will meet Kentwood in the semifinals in a rematch of the SPSL title game. … Stadium, Rogers, Auburn Riverside and Kentridge won loser-out games.

Class 3A West Central/Southwest Bi-District

Kelso and Decatur won first-round games at Heidelberg Park.

In the other first-round contests, Enumclaw and Columbia River advanced.

Class 2A West Central District
Sumner and Fife won first-round games at Franklin Pierce High.

Interlake and Kingston won the other first-round games.
