Brian Davis and Blake Solomon shared a sideline for the past two seasons, coaching boys basketball at Kentwood High.
Next winter, Davis and Solomon will go head-to-head, at least twice a season, as adversaries.
Davis, who resigned as Kentwood’s head coach earlier in March, has accepted the head coaching position at Tahoma and Solomon, an assistant to Davis for the past two seasons, has been named head coach at Kentwood.
Both hires can become official when approved by their respective school boards.
Davis left his post at Kentwood because the coaching position did not come with a full-time teaching position. He will have one at Tahoma, beginning in the 2012-13 school year.
Solomon is familiar with Kentwood. The 2005 Kentwood graduate played on teams that placed first (2004), second (2005) and third (2003) at the state tournament.
