Lake Washington rallied from an early deficit, extending its season one more day.

The Kangaroos (21-7) trailed 9-0 before coming alive in the 9 a.m. consolation loser-out game.

“We just realized it could be our last game as senior,” Lake Washington center Darien Nelson-Henry said. “We didn’t want the season to end.”

The Kangaroos pulled away in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Hawks 17-8.

Lake Washington guard Matt Staudacher totaled 20 points, seven assists and six rebounds, while Nelson-Henry scored 15 points and grabbed eight boards.

For Mountlake Terrace (23-3), Blake Fernandez scored 11 point and Ryan Shannon and Greg Bowman each had 10.

The Kangaroos will play O’Dea at 8 a.m. Saturday in the fourth/sixth-place game.
