Garret Sawyer’s momentum-turning four-point play with less than two minutes left gave the Bears the lead for good.

Trailing 48-46, Sawyer was fouled when he knocked down a 3-pointer from the top of the key with 1:33 remaining. He made the free throw and teammate Anthony Brommer added to the Spokane school’s lead when he scored a laying after a Garfield turnover.

Gaven Deyarmin led Central Valley with 14 points and seven rebounds. Sawyer scored 10 points. Four other players totaled at least five points,

Central Valley is in the semifinals for the first time since 2006 when it reached the championship game.
Tucker Haymond paced the Bulldogs (19-6) with 17 points and Pierre Wright added 13.
