Cascade Christian used a 15-0 run to pull away from second-ranked Naches Valley, winning the Class 1A boys basketball state quarterfinal Thursday afternoon 54-37.

The victory puts the unranked Cougars (20-7) in Friday’s 5:30 p.m. semifinal against No. 3 Lynden Christian (22-4), a 47-46 winner over Granger on Thursday.

Senior Jake Archer led the way with a game-high 18 points and 6-foot-9 junior center Shawn Spencer added 11 points.
