Tickets for the Class 3A football state quarterfinal pairing No. 1 Bellevue and No. 2 Lakes are for sale at Lakes High School Student Accounts, beginning today. Tickets can be purchased with cash only — no checks or credit cards. Cost is $8 for adults, $6 for seniors (62 and older), children older than 5 and students with a valid ASB card. Children younger than 5 are admitted free.

The game begins at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Harry E. Lang Stadium in Lakewood.

This is sure to be a hot ticket, so it’s probably not reasonable to expect to show up 15 minutes before kickoff and expect to buy a ticket, waltz through the turnstile and take a seat at the 50-yard line. If you can do it, stop by Lakes and pick up your tickets before Friday. Some tickets will be held back and placed for sale Friday evening at the ticket booth, but it won’t be a large number.

Even if you get a ticket, you may not get a seat if you arrive late. Clover Park School District officials are expecting a standing-room-only crowd and some will stand along the chainline fence that circles the field.

If you can’t make it to the game, we’ll be running a live-chat here on the blog. You can listen on radio to KLAY 1180AM and it will be webcast at

Doug, Thanks for the clarification. Sometimes, it’s hard for me to fathom how basic information can be difficult to communicate.

The WIAA isn’t my favorite organization; I’m disappointed with they’re organizational and communication skill. The organization shows a lack of vision.

The Bellevue Wolverines earned their national reputation with wins against the nation’s top high school football programs. The Wolverines only interstate losses was to Katy (TX), one of The South’s best high school football traditions and Grant (CA), another nationally ranked high school tradition. The Wolverines have won in California and in Oregon and they defended their reputation and tradition with experience, talent and fortitude. Currently, the Bellevue Wolverines are one of the best teams in the nation.

The Lakes Lancers earned their national reputation by continually producing highly talented and potentially exceptional collegiate student-athletes. In the nation and in the last decade, no team has produced more U.S. Army All-Americans than Lakes High School. For over a decade, Lakes has dominated various leagues in the South Puget Sound region and consistently defeat many of the best teams in Washington State.

This Friday, November 18th, 2011, 7:30 p.m. at Harry E. Lang Stadium, Lakes hosts Bellevue. This time, there are no snowstorms. This time, there are no suspended student-athletes. This time, we’re taking it ‘cause this time is ours!
