Gig Harbor senior kicker Korey Durkee booted three field goals Friday night, including a go-ahead 30-yarder with a minute to play, and Beau Glover sealed the Tides’ come-from-behind win with a 43-yard interception return for a touchdown seconds later to lead Gig Harbor past the South Kitsap Wolves 30-20 at Roy Anderson Field.

It was a mistake-filled night for the Tides (3-2 overall, 2-1 4A Narrows League), who turned the ball over five times and trailed 20-7 at halftime. But junior quarterback Garrett Gallinger led his team on two key drives late in the game, and Durkee ‹ the 6-foot-4, 200-pound University of Washington-bound kicker ‹ provided the difference.

Durkee went 3-for-3 from beyond 30 yards and nailed a game-tying 45-yard
boot with plenty of room to spare midway through the fourth quarter.

South Kitsap (3-2, 1-2), which ran all over the Tides in the first half, didn’t have much of an answer after the break. Senior Dominic Boddie rushed 23 times for 105 yards and junior Adam Gascoyne had 99 yards on 18 attempts, but they combined for just 26 yards in the final two quarters.

Gallinger tossed four interceptions — three in a span of seven throws in the
first half — but wound up 16-for-36 passing with 193 yards for Gig Harbor.

Jake Ayers added touchdown runs of 17 and 3 but left the game in the third
quarter with a shoulder injury.
