It’s finals day at Star Track XXIX. Lots of athletes and events to keep an eye on. Should be a great day.

Here are the heat sheets for today’s finals.

Here’s our coverage from Friday’s Class 4A meet.

Here’s our coverage from Friday’s 3A and 2A meets.

Here are photo galleries from the state track meet.

Because all of today’s events are final and there are no breaks built into the schedule — we’re going straight through from 8:30 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. — I won’t be able to update the post updates to the blog as frequently as I’d like. But I will be tweeting highlights, while I roam the infield . You can follow me on Twitter here to keep up-to-date on Star Track XXIX.

Kentwood girls are running away with the 4A team tite. Conks have a 19-point lead over Inglemoor with a few events remaining.

Kentwood sprinter Holly DeHart won the 4A girls 100 in 11.97. She’s the top seed in the 200, too.

Wenatchee freshman Isaiah Brandt-Sims won the 4A boys 100 in 10.74 seconds.

Heritage’s Sean Keller set a 4A meet record in the javelin with a throw of 220-6.

River Ridge’s Necy Wade edged two-time 2A girls 100 champion Cherish Morrison of Blaine.

Jackson’s Grant Grosvenor held on to edge Kent-Meridian’s Derrick Daigre in the finals of the 4A boys 800. Grosvenor’s time of 1 minute, 50.06 seconds is new meet record. Daigre’s time of 1:50.26 also eclipsed the former record.

Mead’s Baylee Mires won her third 4A girls 800 title, winning in 2:10.28. Mires will also run later today in the 1,600, an event she has won the past two years.

Audrey Ketcham of Wenatchee won the 4A girls high jump with a mark of 5-6.
