If you’re looking for coverage of the boys and girls state golf tournaments, we’ve got you covered.
I’m at the Class 1A tournaments at The Home Course in DuPont, where the Life Christian Academy girls team won its fourth straight team title and WSU-bound golfer Kristen Rue captured her third individual crown with a two-day total of 143 strokes. Elma’s Alexis Keating and Goldendale’s Bree Wanderschied tied for second, six strokes behind Rue. Keating told me she recently gave an oral commitment to attend the University of Colorado on a golf scholarship.
Olympia’s Dominick Francks won the Class 4A boys golf title. He had a two-day total of 171, winning by three strokes.
Peninsula’s Rachel Lewis held off Mount Spokane’s Sierra Bezdicek at the 3A girls tournament, winning by one stroke. Lewis shot a second-round 74 and finished with 145 strokes. Bezdicek carded a 72 on Wednesday and finished with 146 strokes.
Blaine’s Ryan Wallen won the 2A boys tournament by seven strokes and Pullman’s Paige Whidbee claimed the 2A girls crown.
We’ve got reporters at other tournaments and will post results as they come in.
